Description
With their claws, beaks and beady eyes, birds of prey have fascinated humans for generations. Now you can get up close and personal with these amazing tigers of the air.

This half-day experience introduces you to some of the amazing techniques falconers use to utilise the power of these remarkable creatures. In locations around the UK, you’ll take a tour of the bird of prey centre you’ve selected and learn more.

Hunting habits, speed, camouflage, the noises they make. You’ll get schooled on the whole damn fool thing. Then a trained falconer will introduce you to one of the birds. Not in a formal sense. You won’t shake their talon and bow. That will just confuse everyone.

Then you will have the chance to interact with the bird itself. Donning the birding gauntlet, the bird will flap off, then return to your fist. This might be your only chance EVER to get this close to one of these exquisite beasts. Plus there will be plenty of photo opportunities. Just don’t try to do the bunny ears thing with the bird of prey. They hate that.

Nature lovers, bird freaks and fans of Springwatch will all adore this opportunity to get right up in the grill of these wonderful feathered creatures. Sign up now for this Bird of Prey Half Day Experience.
What happens on the day?
Your half day starts with an informative tour of the centre where you will see the variety of birds of prey close up and learn all about their different characteristics, speed capabilities, favourite songs and hunting habits. After that, you will have the chance to fly some of them to the fist under the watchful eye of the trainer. That should probably be ‘eyes’. I can’t imagine all these trainers are one-eyed. Finally there will be plenty of photo opportunities to capture a truly unforgettable experience. All equipment will be provided for your experience, but it is advisable to bring a pair of wellington boots with you (any colour you wish) and wear suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year! You will be at the venue for approximately 2-3 hours in total. ....
