When you’re a teenager, there can be nothing more excruciating than waiting for that 17th birthday to roll around. But this experience, totally legal and completely safe, lets any youngster between 12 and 16 have a go at driving without a license. And better yet, you don’t have to be in the car with them!

Here’s how it works: at a remote location far, far away from any public road users, your lucky teen will be taught the rudiments of driving. One of our highly qualified ADI or ARDS instructors will take charge and, with a maximum of three students in the car, will do a fun version of their first driving lesson.

The whole experience will last about 2.5 hours and will start with a full safety briefing. After that, the class will divide into groups of three and be assigned a car and an instructor. If they’re lucky, they’ll have the pleasure of driving a MINI. Second choice (depending on location and availability) is a trusty Ford Fiesta or Fiesta Zetec.

Each teen should get about 45 minutes in the driving seat, which leaves plenty of time for getting to grips with the basics on driving. But, because they won’t be anywhere near a public road, they should be able to try out a few more techniques than with their first ‘proper’ driving lesson.

This is a great gift for a car-mad youngster and, when that 17th birthday does roll round, they’ll learn more quickly (and therefore more cheaply!) than their peers.
