Yes, you love to eat smoky things, but do you know how the smokiness gets in there? No, of course you don’t, look at you. But with this experience, you can learn all about the craft of food smoking and discover how to make a variety of products extra delicious.

And what is more you get to do this in one of the most beautiful and Cumbrian parts of the country: Cumbria. Over the day, in the tranquil surroundings of Castle Court, you’ll be introduced to a number of different food smokers and be educated in the history and skills of hot and cold smoking. And it’s not just the obvious items, like smoky bacon flavour crisps, that you’ll be smoking. Delicious foods as diverse as salmon, chicken, sausages, prawns, peppers, cheese, garlic and even nuts will get smoked up a treat. Imagine that: smoky nuts! And you’ll get to take some of these treats home with you.

Plus you’ll get to spend time with other food-smoking enthusiasts. Who knows, maybe you’ll find love? Scratch that, we guarantee you’ll find love. Furtive glances over the broiler, you’ll wonder whether those are tears in you new love’s eyes or whether that smoked nut was simply too hot. Then you’ll run off together and start a rival Cumbrian food smoking school. It’s bound to happen.
