A unique experience for even the most well travelled thrill-seekers, this voucher gives you the chance to operate and race your very own hovercraft. By the end of the day, you will have taken on the purpose-built obstacle course, raced against other hovercraft and entered a time-trial to win a return visit.

Just in case you’re not up to speed on your amphibious vehicles, a hovercraft moves by ‘hovering’ over a cushion of high-pressure air that’s being ejected onto the surface below. This makes it really good at moving over all sorts of different terrains (including water), but not so good at taking sharp corners or braking.

Your day will start with a safety briefing to get you up to speed on the basic techniques for operating this distinctive craft. You’ll be flying a small race-bred hovercraft and will learn everything from timing and navigating that tricky 90-degree bend, to performing a flashy 180-degree brake manoeuvre.

What you get up to next depends on your choice of location, but you’ll definitely be exploring a purpose-built course and racing against other hovercraft over a challenging array of terrains.

At the Kent course, you’ll also be able to enter a time-trial, with your fastest lap being recorded and entered into a competition. At the end of the year, the winner will receive a free day at the course. At the Leicestershire course, your day will be more focused on the demanding obstacle course.
