Description
If you’re into fast and furious sports, there’s no better experience than racing a Honda Formula 4-stroke Series Raceboat on open water. Experience white-knuckle thrills (and hopefully no spills!) as you master a pursuit once reserved for only the richest of sports fanatics. If that’s not enough, your powerboating half-day will be captained by an expert in the field. Most of the instructors are ex-champions, so you couldn’t be in safer or more capable company.
What happens on the day?
This experience is a true hedonistic thrill for the sports-mad family, as it’s even suitable for children aged 12 or over with a participating, paying adult. After a safety briefing, four people will take to the water and enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Itchen and past Southampton Docks. Once in Southampton Water, you’re free to let rip! Each occupant will receive full training and have the opportunity to drive the powerboat for up to 20 minutes at speeds reaching 50 mph. This voucher is valid for 10 months. Approximately 1.5 hours will be spent on the water. The total duration of the experience is approx 2 hours participants will receive a photograph of the boat at the end. Participants will have a chance to take full control of the boat if they wish. The Powerboat driving season runs from April-October. The boats depart from Southampton . Full location details will be given on booking. The minimum age is 12 - those aged between 12 and 16 may participate only where a parent or guardian has a valid voucher/booking and is able to accompany them. The maximum weight is 16 stone. Pregnant or participants with serious back or heart trouble cannot take part. Please wear trainers or soft soled shoes and a waterproofs jacket.
