Zombies is serious business...

...and why I should win the TechAmerica scholarship at Stanford.

#1. Who We Are is a bootstrapped ecommerce startup based in London, co-founded by Richard Kershaw & Stephen Pavlovich in July 2011. Our team of ten work remotely across four countries.

#2. What We Do

We sell life-changing experience days, a £100m+/year market in the UK, such as flying lessons and supercar driving experiences. But we're best known for our near-legendary Zombie Shopping Mall experience (as seen on Pando Daily and Venture Beat).

#3. So What?

Zombies is serious business. We're on track to do $1m+ in sales in our first full year, as discussed in our recent video interview.

#4. What The Papers Say

We've had press coverage in 20+ countries, including BBC, CNN, Fox News and ABC. We're regulars in the British papers, including The Sun, The Daily Telegraph and Metro (see our 'press' page).

#5. What Our Fans Say

Over 130,000 people have Liked Zombie Shopping Mall on FaceBook. Celebrity Twitter fans Stephen Fry, Jamie Oliver and Simon Pegg have shared and our products with millions of followers.

Why I Should Win
(And What I'd Get Out Of It)

  • Learn Leadership On Campus.
I want to sharpen my leadership skills in a formal academic environment away from the day-to-day distractions of startup life.
  • This Christmas Counts.
We'll make 25-40% annual revenue over the holiday period, so Q4 2012 is critical to our future - and the TechAmerica course would provide the skills for me to lead our team to deliver the best quarter we can.
  • Manage Ambitious Growth.
Our plans for 2013, including international expansion, will be highly demanding; I will benefit enormously from formal leadership training to execute our plans effectively.

Furthermore, I have ten years' management experience in the internet/mobile sector and am available to live on campus at Stanford for the duration of the program.
